GBMA Education

In April 2018, GBMA Education Limited, the educational arm of GBMA, was awarded the Biosimilar Education Grant by the Australian Government.

The Government is continuing its investment in educating prescribers, pharmacists and consumers on the benefits of using biosimilar medicines by way of an education grant and an investment of $5 million is made under the grant with activities to take place over three years, for completion by December 2020.

The purpose of the grant is increase confidence in the use of biosimilar brands of biological medicines that are listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). The program objective is to support a competitive market for biological medicines via peer-to-peer health communication activities that support the increased use of biosimilar medicines.

For ongoing communications from GBMA Education regarding biosimilar medicines, including news and research updates, email admin@gbmaeducation.com.au with the subject line ‘Subscribe me to biosimilar news’ or visit biosimilarhub.com.au.
